Impact Damage Claims
Impact damage comes from a physical force — a vehicle striking a wall, a fallen tree, or construction equipment hitting a boundary. The cause is usually clear; the challenge is documenting structural and hidden damage.
Make safe
- Secure the area; check for live services (gas, electric, water).
- Temporary shoring or boarding may be required.
Evidence
- Wide and close-up photos of the impact point.
- Notes from first responders or contractors.
- Third-party details if a vehicle is involved (insurer, registration).
Repairs
Expect structural assessment where walls or columns are affected. Works may include brickwork rebuilds, lintel checks, and decoration. Contents damage (e.g., smashed TV) is a separate section.
